Comments on Final Paper Ideas

I am very interested in Trejo’s idea about using DNA in the field of music. Though DNA, in some ways its structure itself exhibits natural beauty, is not uncommon among different forms of visual arts, genetics has rarely been associated with music. However, although there are only four bases in DNA molecule their various combinations have much potential creating complex variations and codes for thousands of different proteins. Thus applying genetic codes to music is definitely a great innovation that converts the arcane science into an art form that reach out to the whole public so that more people are able to understand genetic technology behind it. From Trejo’s proposal however it seems there are only a few of existing music works done in such way, so probably you can discuss more about future development of genetic music form in your final paper.

The other interesting topic I found is plastic surgery in South Korea. Despite its popularity among young ladies, I am more curious about the attitudes of young male people in South Korea towards it. Do they share similar values towards beauty (i.e. “eternal youth”, fair skin, make ups or something like that), or that only applies to female people? Whether popularity of plastic surgery is due to gender bias or a social phenomenon featuring pursuit of beauty of the entire population is a really interesting topic to talk about in your paper!
